We produce our own fish for trials in Norway and Chile. This ensures close monitoring of the production, and availability of high quality test fish throughout the year.

Atlantic salmon for trials in Norway are produced at VESO's hatchery which is located 20 kilometers from Vikan. The hatchery is certified according to GLOBALG.A.P. standards. 15-30 grams of parr are available all year, and smolts are available after a 12 week light manipulation period. We also produce IPN susceptible salmon wide for lower resistance against IPN. Production of our own salmon ensures quality in every step from egg to smolts ready for transfer to sea.

Atlantic salmon for trials in Chile are produced in a separate unit of the Cargill Innovation Center in Colaco.

The fish batches are screened for known pathogens throughout the production cycle.
