VESO Vikan holds a salmon farming license for research purposes. The license enables trial conduct under commercial farming conditions throughout the salmon life cycle from hatching to harvest.
Field trials typically include feeding trials and trials for evaluation of efficacy and safety of vaccines. Parallel laboratory trials (including long-term studies) may be performed at VESO Vikan to validate results of field trials. Fish that are included in field trials are produced at VESO Vikan’s hatchery. Trials can be conducted according to GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and VESO Vikan also offers monitoring services for field trials conducted according to GCP at other locations.
